The Ayeyarwady Foundation’s transformation of the Yankin Children’s Hospital in Yangon stands as a flagship project under its Health pillar, revolutionizing pediatric care in Myanmar. By converting the former Ministry of Mines offices into a modern 550-bed pediatric hospital, the Foundation created a state-of-the-art facility to serve children across the region. Completed in 2011, this initiative reflects the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring a healthier future for Myanmar’s youth. The project is divided into two key areas: Reconstruction and Donations, and Ongoing Support for Operations and Children.

Reconstruction and Donations

The Ayeyarwady Foundation spearheaded the redevelopment of the Yankin Children’s Hospital at No. 90, Thitsa Road (Kanbe), Yankin Township, transforming a 9.5-acre site into a modern pediatric healthcare facility with a total floor area of 268,046 square feet. Over a 13-month period from February 2010 to March 2011, the Foundation renovated and constructed buildings, equipping the hospital to meet the highest standards of medical care.
